ANNUAL GOING GOLD FUN RUN

In 2016, the Foundation launched its annual childhood cancer awareness event, the Chance for Hope Going Gold Fun Run! This event occurs each year in September, which is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and gold is the national color for childhood cancer. Pediatric cancer is the leading cause of disease-related death for children, and each year, more than 15,000 children and teenagers are diagnosed with this tragic disease. Pediatric cancer limits the dreams of too many children and deprives the world of their enormous potential. Through the Chance for Hope Going Gold Fun Run, we remember the many children who have been taken from us too soon, and we extend our support to all those who continue to battle this illness with incredible strength and courage.

The Chance for Hope Going Gold Fun Run is an officially-timed 5K and 10K race open to participants of all ages. From competitive runners chasing personal bests to leisurely walkers interested in strolling for a cause, the Going Gold Fun Run offers something for everyone. In addition to the race itself, the Fun Run includes an event village featuring music, raffle prizes, and other fun activities for the entire family, as well as a sponsor marketplace where you can visit representatives from the many local businesses that have partnered with the Foundation to support childhood cancer awareness. It is a day of fun, family and fitness, all in support of a great cause.

If you are a Pearland or Houston area business interested in becoming part of the Going Gold Fun Run, please contact the Foundation at info@chanceforhopefoundation.org. For participants interested in signing up to run in either the 5K or 10K race, details for the September event are announced annually in June. Please “like” the Chance for Hope Foundation Facebook page to receive alerts regarding the Going Gold Fun Run and other Foundation events.
