Andrea Davidson is the co-founder and President of the Chance for Hope Foundation. Andrea and her husband Scott founded the Chance for Hope Foundation after the loss of their thirteen-year-old son Chance to brain cancer in the Fall of 2013. Through the Foundation, Andrea is hopeful that her son’s name will live on by transforming an unimaginable loss into something positive for other cancer patients. Andrea has served the Houston community through her numerous roles with The Junior League of Houston. In her years with the Junior League, Andrea served on the Board of Directors as well as the Executive Committee, where she gained valuable experience running non-profit organizations. Andrea continues to serve the Junior League in an advisory role, and past positions held by Andrea include Community Vice President, Children’s Health and Education Interest Group Director, and Texas Children’s Hospital Chairman for all Junior League volunteers at the hospital. Prior to becoming a mother and volunteer, Andrea’s background was in Finance. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from California Polytechnic University, Pomona in 1992, and worked many years in the banking industry.

Scott is a co-founder and Board member of the Chance for Hope Foundation. Together with his wife Andrea, Scott created the Chance for Hope Foundation as a legacy for their son, Chance, who lost a fifteen-month battle against brain cancer in October 2013. With an acute understanding of the needs and challenges faced by children with cancer and their families, Scott joins the Foundation’s mission of providing critically needed support services for pediatric cancer families, and funding for research initiatives to find cures and improved treatment protocols for childhood cancers. Scott obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Cal Poly Pomona in 1993, and graduated from New York University School of Law in 1998. Scott currently works as an attorney, and is the father of Chance’s little brother Clay, who is now in college. Scott has had a long history of service in the Houston community, most recently serving as a Director and Executive Committee member of Healthcare for the Homeless – Houston, an organization providing primary care, behavioral healthcare, medical case management, and dental care services to Houston’s homeless population.

Joe graduated from Rice University in 1984, magna cum laude, receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Managerial Studies, and Legal Studies. He graduated from The University of Chicago Law School in 1987. Initially practicing law in Southern California with a Los Angeles and then a New York firm, he moved to Houston with his wife Kadisha in 1994 to begin a new chapter in their lives together raising a family. Twenty years and four children later—Noah, Alexa, Isaac and Seth—the chapter is still being written. Joe currently serves as Senior Associate General Counsel at Rice University where he has provided advice and counsel for Rice’s academic and business transactional affairs for the past 20 years. In particular, he finds it deeply rewarding to facilitate the University’s scientific research endeavors, especially those involving cancer research. Through the Chance for Hope Foundation, Joe seeks to honor Chance and his memory by having him continue to touch people’s lives every day in a positive and supportive way.
After growing up in the Netherlands, Kadisha moved to Los Angeles where she earned her nursing degree in 1987. As an R.N., she discovered her passion for working with terminally ill patients as a founding member of the AIDS/HIV unit at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. In 1994, she relocated with her husband, Joe Davidson, to Houston, Texas, where she pursued her desire to bring aid and comfort to patients in the Intensive Care Unit at St. Luke’s Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. Together, Kadisha and Joe are raising four children: Noah, Alexa, Isaac, and Seth. The loss of their cousin, Chance, affected all of them deeply and cemented Kadisha’s passion to comfort those in need. Kadisha feels honored to serve as a Board member of the Chance for Hope Foundation. She has witnessed that keeping families connected and having access to needed services can create unimaginable support to pediatric cancer families. Her strong commitment to family, coupled with her life experiences as a nurse, drive her desire to help the Foundation make a difference.
Keely Moore has served as a Board member for the Chance For Hope Foundation since the organization’s inception in 2014. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She taught 3rd and 4th grade Math and Science in Alief ISD, Corpus Christi ISD, and Pearland ISD. After having children, Keely became a full time mom and avid volunteer. She volunteers regularly at The Junior League of Houston and is an active member of the PTA at her children’s schools. Keely witnessed what the Davidson Family endured during their son Chance’s illness. “Chance was an amazing young man who touched my life, and the lives of my family. I believe that the Chance for Hope Foundation can bring joy and comfort to families, which is something we strive toward,” she says. Keely currently resides in Pearland, Texas with her husband, Rodney, and her three children – Hailey, Mason, and Carson. She enjoys being with family, traveling, and making memories!
Dr. Natalie Aloia is a board certified Pediatrician in Houston, TX. She is a graduate of The UCLA-Geffen School of Medicine and received her pediatric training at Duke University Medical Center. She was in private practice in North Carolina for four years before returning to her home state of Texas with her husband, Tom, and 2 children, Matteo and Allie. In Houston, her pediatric practice for the last 10 years has focused largely on an underserved, Spanish-speaking population. Over this time, Natalie’s strong commitment to help others has continued to grow and extend beyond her clinical practice. As a member of The Junior League of Houston, she served the Houston community-at-large through numerous volunteer positions. Her favorite League placement was as a Counselor at Camp Hope, a summer program for children with HIV. It was here that she first experienced sick children as “kids” rather than “patients” and discovered how courageous children with debilitating diseases truly are. The opportunity to be a part of helping these children face their fears at camp and overcome obstacles created by their disease was inspirational. It gave her a new outlook on her practice and the families she serves. Although she has professionally treated many pediatric oncology patients, the journey that was Chance’s battle with cancer touched her most deeply. In particular, she learned of the countless non-medical needs that families facing pediatric cancer struggle to address. In memory of Chance’s courageous fight, she has committed to serve the Chance For Hope Foundation as an inaugural Board member. She wholeheartedly believes that, by addressing these unmet needs, the Foundation can significantly improve the experience of families battling these devastating diseases.
